DESCRIPTION OF CASE
Plaintiff, a union carpenter, suffered injuries to the middle and ring finger of his left hand while operating a table saw at a Queens construction site. Plaintiff claimed that Defendants violated the New York State Labor Law, Section 241(6), by failing to have proper guards covering the saw blade. Defendants claimed that Plaintiff was responsible for the accident, as he accidentally depressed the pedal of the saw causing the blade to come forward and strike his left hand.

Partial amputation of middle and ring finger of left (non-dominant) hand.
