DESCRIPTION OF CASE
The plaintiff's vehicle was struck by a left trungin vehicle. She sustained a fractured wrist which failed to heal properly and required a surgery. She also injured her right knee which likewise required surgery. The Plaintiff also claimed that her neck was injured and she underwent a neck surgery 2 years post accident. The defense contended that the neck surgery was not causally related to the accident. The plaintiff has a prior 20 year history of sarcoidosis (for which she received disability benefits from the United States Army) and had a myriad of prior health problems that caused her to have various periods of complete disability before this accident. The prior disabilities included a prior motor vehicle accident in which she fractured her left wrist. A gall bladder removal surgery with months of disability. The Plaintiff also had prior periods of blurred vision and blindness prior to the within accident.
